Brandy West, Ed.D.

 Dr. Brandy West is the visionary founder and CEO of Learners are Leaders, Inc. With nearly 20 years of experience in education, her expertise spans across multiple educational settings, including public schools, university settings, and educational policy. 

Dr. West holds a Doctorate in Education Policy and Leadership from Southern Methodist University, a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University, a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from Texas Woman's University, and certifications as a teacher and principal (EC-12) in the state of Texas. She is passionate about health and fitness as she is certified in CPR, personal training, nutrition coaching, and is a USATF Level 1 certified track and field coach.

Dr. West's career began in the classroom, where she passionately worked to create effective instructional strategies tailored to the diverse needs of her students. Her dedication to equity and innovation in education led her to leadership roles, including Magnet Coordinator, Instructional Coach, and Assistant Principal, where she championed programs designed to improve outcomes for marginalized children.

Building on her success in public school administration, Dr. West transitioned to higher education, serving as an Adjunct Professor and Assistant Professor in the College of Education at Southern Methodist University and Sam Houston State University. Through her expertise in instructional design, teacher training, and policy development, she has influenced countless educators and future leaders. Her work has garnered widespread recognition within the educational community, solidifying her reputation as a visionary committed to creating equitable opportunities for all learners.

Dr. West is a sought-after speaker and presenter at regional and national conferences on topics such as Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Response to Intervention (RTI), active learning, and student-teacher relationship building, special education advocacy, and positive behavioral interventions and supports. She has also received numerous awards for her leadership and contributions to the education sector. As the founder of Learners are Leaders, Dr. Brandy West continues to shape the future of education and youth development, committed to advancing equity and inclusivity in every aspect of her work. She enjoys working with leaders of all ages - whether they are parents, professionals, teachers, future teachers, students, or athletes.
