Kaniesha McEwen is a dedicated educator from Monroe, Louisiana, who relocated to Dallas, Texas after graduating from college. She followed her passion for music education, earning a Bachelor’s degree from Alcorn State University in 2000. After finishing her studies, she taught for two years in Dallas ISD and Wilmer Hutchins ISD. Continuing her academic journey, Kaniesha obtained a Master’s in School Counseling (M.ED. SC) from Dallas Baptist University in 2004. Since then, she has worked as a high school counselor in Lancaster ISD (3 years), Richardson ISD (6 years), and Irving ISD (11 years). With nearly 25 years in the field of education, Kaniesha currently serves as the Lead Counselor at Jack E. Singley Academy. She is also proud to be married and a mother to twin girls. Additionally, Kaniesha serves as Treasurer for Learners are Leaders, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth and fostering leadership skills. Her unwavering dedication to education and mentorship continues to positively impact the lives of students and the community as a whole.
