Kaniesha McEwen, M.Ed.SC.

Kaniesha McEwen is a dedicated educator from Monroe, Louisiana, who moved to Dallas, Texas after college graduation. She pursued her passion for music education, earning a Bachelor’s degree from Alcorn State University in 2000. After college, she taught for two years in Dallas ISD and Wilmer Hutchins ISD. Continuing her academic journey, Kaniesha obtained a Master’s in School Counseling (M.ED. SC) from Dallas Baptist University in 2004. Since then, she has been employed as a high school counselor, in Lancaster ISD (3 years), Richardson ISD (6 years), and Irving ISD (11 years). With almost 25 years in the field of education, Kaniesha currently holds the position of Lead Counselor at Jack E. Singley Academy. Beyond her professional endeavors, she is married with twin girls. 

She is very proud to serve as Treasurer for Learners are Leaders, Inc. nonprofit organization, demonstrating her commitment to empowering youth and fostering leadership skills. Kaniesha’s unwavering dedication to education and mentorship continues to positively impact the lives of students and communities alike.
